Is it ok to wear the wedding color to a wedding if I am a guest?

My boyfriends brother is getting married in 3 weeks and I just found a dress to wear to the wedding after months of searching. The problem is, the dress is a teal and brown paisley design. Their wedding color is teal. I never anticipated wearing that color but it seems like it is the only popular color this season. Is it ok to wear the dress? I dont want to look like I am apart of the wedding and I dont think I will but I am just concerned about the color. Do you think this is okay?
